5 Tips to keep your Kidneys healthy

Kidneys are vital to keep overall health in check. So, it becomes extremely important to look after them. The simple tips mentioned below can help you keep them in good shape.

Eat A Healthy & Balanced Diet

A balanced diet ensures that the body gets all the vitamins and minerals needed to keep it healthy. Make sure to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, and grains such as wholewheat pasta, bread and rice. Avoid consuming excess salty or fatty food.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of fluid makes it easy for the kidneys to function properly. The urine should be straw-coloured and if you find it any darker, it may be a sign of dehydration. It is also recommended to drink more water than usual during hot weather to make up for the fluid lost by sweating.

Watch Your Blood Pressure

It is recommended to get your blood pressure checked regularly. High blood pressure has no symptoms, but it may increase the risk of heart and kidney problems.
